Local Authorities Support FINCA’s Financial Literacy Enhancement Initiative

Local authorities of Chui oblast intend to support FINCA’s initiative on conducting trainings aimed at the enhancement of the population’s financial literacy. It became known as a result of the negotiations held between the representatives of FINCA and administration staff of Moskovskiy rayon, Chui oblast.

According to the information provided by Meerim Jusupova, deputy head of staff, local authorities are ready to assume a portion of obligations associated with the organization of training. In particular, the provision of premise for training, settlement of the relevant organizational matters, informing population through local mass media.

Based on the tentative information, the training is scheduled for September 7 of the current year in Belovodsk settlement.

“The support by local authorities of the training is a good sign. It shows how right was our vision of social partnership. We intend to build the long-term relationship scheme between the state authorities, local governments. This set of activities within our company is considered as ensuring cooperation between certain representatives of community, in this particular case, between private sector and local government. Negotiations are a way for us to find mutually acceptable and interest-balanced decisions to settle some of the social issues. Currently the company has already conducted 14 financial literacy trainings for the population in all of the country’s oblasts. Training on the work with population was completed by 30 trainers”, – said FINCA’s operations manager Ulan Jumaliev.

It is necessary to note that the matters of financial literacy among population are started to be given more attention at various levels. Recently a meeting was held in Bishkek among the representatives of president’s administration, the National Bank, microfinance sector and experts.
