At the beginning of April in Bishkek an opening of Koldoshop social shopping facility took place, in which FINCA acted as a general partner.

The range of goods in the shop is represented by the souvenirs, made by people with disabilities. The souvenir products are mainly made of felt, leather and silver.

The main purpose for the shop to be opened is to provide support and opportunity of getting additional earnings to the people from socially vulnerable groups.

– This is a wonderful initiative, since 60% of people with disabilities are able to work, but 90% of them are unemployed. They do not want to be excluded from society and live on allowance, they rather want to work and earn money with their labor”, – the CEO FINCA Kyrgyzstan Makhmud Saidakhmatov noted during the opening.

The works of Kyrgyzstan-famous fashion designers and artists with disabilities, as well as other masters are offered for sale in Koldoshop.

The funds raised from sale of goods will be invested in support of new prospective authors of souvenir products.
