A single battery can contaminate up to 20 square meters of soil. Many stores across the country have special collection bins for used batteries and bulbs.

• Try to avoid single-use plastics.
Plastic bags, straws, and disposable tableware can easily be replaced. Choose reusable shopping bags and refillable water bottles instead.
