It is not a secret that it is a strong shortage of kindergartens in the country. For the parents, it is easier to place the child in private kindergarten rather the public kindergarten. Moreover, considering both (i.e. the public and private), only 15% of children are ensured by pre-school education. With a collapse of the Soviet Union, majority of social institutions was closed, and then demolished and sold by our short-sighted citizens. Reasons pushed them to such actions are obvious: crisis of perestroika, loss of currency value, hunger and employment. And now we have ability and capacity to work and pay but the kindergartens disappeared.

Situation in the regions of the country is worse. For instance, there are only two kindergartens in At-Bashy village of the Naryn province today. Total number of seats is 240 there. And one private kindergarten works for the children-invalids. But it is not sufficient for the region with 13,5 thousand inhabitants. It is extremely small number of seats. But the kindergarten “Asylzat” for 120 kids was opened in At-Bashy on May 31st according to initiative of the local citizens, authorities and FINCA.

Under financial support of the company FINCA, two-level beds, tables, chairs, toys, carpets were purchased and brought to new kindergarten. Also, household equipment as bought such as fridge, water-heater, gas and electric stoves, laundering machine. 36 thousand people live in the regional center, Naryn city.  Six kindergartens operate there. In spite of that fact, every district of the city needs more than 150 seats for kids. For example, in “Ak-Dil” kindergarten, kids are used to sleep by three children in one bed, and eat by turn. This kindergarten is located in three rented private houses, each of them have capacity to host 25-30 people. The most interesting that one of buildings of the kindergarten does not have any furniture. Here, additional 30 seats were equipped in a framework of the project of corporative social responsibility under support of the company FINCA.
