“Oimo” international festival commenced in Bishkek. The seventh in a row of annual events was opened on July 24 and ended on August 6 in Cholpon-Ata.

FINCA acted as a sponsor of this festival and funded the participation of seven clients from various regions of the country under its “Client support” program.

The festival objective is to promote Kyrgyzstan as a regional forum for active intercultural dialogue, craftsmanship support, folklore traditions and international tourism, friendship strengthening and understanding among people.

Here is what one of the fair participants – Baiyzov Baktybek – Bishkek branch client, says: “Thanks to FINCA I participate in this festival. Speaking honestly, I have learned about it from your company. This fair gave me an opportunity to exhibit leather goods I have produced myself. In addition, during this fair I was given an opportunity to exchange experience with masters from Turkmenia, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan. Thanks a lot to the company”.

Balykchy branch client Abdyldaeva Baktygul is glad to note the fact that her felt collection was sold out in the very first day of the festival in Bishkek. “I produce felt and silk goods, sew women garments with folklore motifs. And the most surprising thing was that the collection I’ve brought to Bishkek and was expecting to bring to Cholpon Ata, was sold out fast and I had to go to Balykchy to bring new garments”, – said Baktygul.

The organizers of the international festival expressed their gratitude to FINCA for weighty contribution into culture and tourism development in Kyrgyzstan and for the active promotion of “Oimo” at the local and international levels.
