FINCA Has the Largest Share in Total Loan Portfolio of the AMFO Members

Despite not simple conditions in Kyrgyzstan after the revolution in April of the last year, records of FINCA’s activity for 2010 demonstrate positive development of the company in a microfinance market of the republic.

According to the results of the year the loan portfolio has increased by 9% – that is more than 2 milliard 385 million som, maintaining high quality of the loan portfolio. Number of clients has increased by 2 675 people and reached the number of over 110 700 of small and medium entrepreneurs.
The total number of loans disbursed to entrepreneurs is more than 125 thousand. Women traditionally constitute the majority of borrowers, 67% of the client base, moreover the largest part of FINCA’s clients are rural population. Average loan size by the end of 2010 is 460 US dollars.

Orderly extending its presence in the regions, FINCA Company has widened service network by opening a branch in Kochkor-Ata of Jalal-Abad oblast with 5 offices in the following villages: Mailuu-Suu, Nooken, Tash-Kumyr, Shamaldy-Sai and Uch-Korgon. Thus, to date small and medium business loans of FINCA are issued in 101 offices in all 7 oblasts of the republic, including the most remote villages.

In 2010 FINCA took a number of actions aiming to improvement of loan conditions. Interest rates were lowered and threshold loan amounts were increased for all types of loans. The number of people applying for a group loan was reduced from 4 to 3.  Grace period (period of delay in payment) and loan terms are increased in agricultural loans. New businessmen can receive a loan for starting business in the amount of 25 thousand som since December 2010.
In 2010 FINCA increased the number of staff up to 989 employees, having created 93 new work places. According to the results of the year the amount of taxes transferred to the state budget constituted more than 87 million som. By the end of 2010 FINCA’s share among microfinance companies of the republic constituted 32%. According to the data of the Association of microfinance organizations, at present FINCA Company has the largest share in total loan portfolio of the AMFO members, constituting 29%.
