Global Money Week in Kyrgyzstan
During March 9 – 17, first time, Kyrgyzstan joined to global campaign “Global Money Week” at full scale, which is aimed at development of culture of saving and provision of knowledge to the children and young people that they could make independent financial decisions in future.
Young people today – they are future leaders tomorrow, and it is important that they have access to valid information and obtain required knowledge in time. Widening financial opportunities of the children influences not only on quality of their life, but whole financial system at all.
Within this activity, interactive training workshops, seminars, conferences, contests for kids and youth will be held throughout the country including even remote regions and villages.
Also, the financial institutions, associations and international agencies join this campaign to outreach more people. Including: the State Agency on Financial Supervision and Reporting under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Youth KR, the Ministry of Education and Science KR, the Agency on Deposit Protection KR, PLE “Kyrgyzstan Banks Union”, the Association of Microfinancial Organizations (AMFO), PA “Youth Development Institute”, the Policy Development Institute, the Credit-Informational Bureau “Ishenim”, the International Financial Corporation (IFC), the German Society on International Cooperation (GIZ) and others.
Large scale campaign “Global Money Week” is held annually under patronage of the international community «Child and Youth Finance» in more than 100 countries of the world.
Mission of campaign is to promote financial integration, available financial products and financial education for children and youth.
Within GMW, about 2000 campaigns and events have being held in 118 countries in 2014. Main goal of the movement “Child and Youth Finance” is to support kids and youth in getting knowledge how to save and spend their own money in responsible manner. Today, less than 1% of children have access to financial education and integration into financial system. One billion kids live in poverty.

Kyrgyzstan participates in the campaign second year. Last year, FINCA and Kyrgyzstan Banks Union took part in this activity.
